Donna Rice Hughes, Advisor for Public Relations,
Mrs. Hughes has been retained as our advisor for public relations. She has over 20 years experience in marketing, advertising, communications, public relations and government relations. She is the Vice President of Marketing and Public Relations of Enough Is Enough, a non-partisan, non-profit educational organization whose mission is to make the Internet safe for children and families. Mrs. Hughes is the author of Kids Online: Protecting Your Children In Cyberspace (Revell, September 1998) and is a founding principal in Phoenix Financial and Advisory Services which serves small and mid-sized companies in the technology, media, and entertainment industries. Mrs. Hughes led Enough Is Enough's efforts regarding the issue of online child safety and played a pioneering role in the national effort to make the Internet safe for children and families. Mrs. Hughes has given over 1500 media interviews on this issue and has spoken extensively on the subject in educational and professional forums across the country. She has been a featured guest on numerous television shows including CNN's Crossfire, Dateline, Oprah Winfrey and The View with Barbara Walters. Additionally, her views on this issue have been featured in publications including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, USA Today, The San Francisco Chronicle, The San Jose Mercury News and McCall's Magazine. In 1999, Mrs. Hughes received a congressional appointment to the Child Online Protection Commission to examine technological solutions to protect children online.
