Algeria - The index has been created by The Norwegian Council for Africa, as part of its comprehensive effort to strengthen the knowledge of Africa and African affairs. The projects has been developed in cooperation with the information company Gazette, and wit h financial support from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Algeria- A Country Study - A compact and objective manner the dominant historical, social, economic, political, and national security aspects of contemporary Algeria. Sources of information included scholarly books, journals, and monographs; official reports and documents of governments and international organizations; and foreign and domestic newspapers and periodicals.
Algerian Consulate London - Algeria was originally inhabited by ancestors of the Berbers. Later came the Phoenicians, Romans, Vandals, and then the Arabs. Turkey ruled from 1518 to 1830 when France took control. Algeria gained its independence in 1962.
