Developed by ThinkQuest kids who are also chess masters, you'll learn basics, study championship games, and even meet Deep Blue, the chess champion with a power cord!

Chess for Kids - This site was created by students for the ThinkQuest Junior competition. It has the extra added attraction of preplayed and annotated games, so that you can follow every move of some games played by other kid chessmasters. And there are chess puzzles, where you decide what the next move should be.

Desdemona: Interactive Othello - This site lets you play Othello, or Reversi, against the computer. Play at several different skill levels. If you're a beginner, choose to view your legal moves before you select one. You can also read about the rules and strategy as well as see statistics on the game as played at this server.

Duelist - The Duelist magazine is no more, but it lives on in the Duelist online! In case you didn't know, The Duelist is a magazine devoted to the best customizable card games ever made, games like Pokemon and my personal favorite, Magic: The Gathering. It includes card values and notes about game play, and best of all, it's free. So head on over to Wizards of the Coast: Duelist Magazine...right now!

Internet Chess - You'll want to visit this one every knight. It has everything from e-mail chess lessons to audio interviews with Bobby Fischer. You can keep up with the current tournament results and find places to play over the Internet. And there's a Best of the Web section to show you the moves at the greatest sites around.

Loteria Cards - Latinos like to play a fun game called Loteria . It's like bingo, but it has colorful pictures with Spanish names instead of numbers and letters. Would you like to play the game? This class of kids made their own game cards! There is also lots of information on the riddles on the cards, as well as a lesson plan for teachers.

Play Chess Against tkChess - If you know your rooks from your pawns, you'll definitely want to make your move here. There are two versions: one is Java-enabled, so you can drag your pieces around; the other should work fine on both text and graphical browsers. Be sure to read the FAQ to learn how to use the algebraic notation system, which is easier than it sounds. You'll also find links to other Net chess pages, including one that will let you challenge another online player so you can play together in real time.

Tablut - The game of Tablut was discovered in Sweden in 1732. Its origin is the old Norse board game known as Hnefatafl. It concerns the fate of a Viking king who is attacked. The object is for the king to reach the safety of the corner squares. A game of thought and skill.

Check out both variations, because there is much to learn and see at both sites! Learn the history of the game, see a live Scrabble game as it's played, and get some hot tips to improve your skills. You can even find out how to get replacements for those Scrabble tiles your dog chewed up, as well as a complete set of rules for your downloading pleasure.

WebBattleship - Fight naval battles against a computer, and see how good your strategy is! Score a hit on each of the squares occupied by the computer's hidden ships to win. Easy to learn, WebBattleship is similar to the popular board game.
