At their Web site you can find out about fingerprinting, polygraph (lie detector) testing, DNA analysis, and other methods of crime detection. You'll be fascinated by the information on real-life crime dogs. They look for explosives, perform search and rescue operations, and also can be trained to sniff out drugs. You can also find out what types of jobs will be most available in the future. This site was created by students for the ThinkQuest competition.

Monster.com - Monster.com features resume management, a personal job search agent, careeers network, chat and message boards and expert advice on job-seeking and career management. For employers they offer real-time job postings, complete company profiles and resume screening, routing and searching.

Peterson's: Summer Programs - Get your older brother or sister to apply for a job at camp! Peterson's (the educational directory publisher) posts lists of summer jobs here, mostly at summer camps, for both older teenagers and young adults. Phone numbers and e-mail contact addresses are included, making this a good place to look for that first-time job. There are also links to the American Camping Association's Directory of Accredited Camps and lots of information for international students. Your parents may want to explore the rest of the items at this comprehensive educational directory. They will find everything from K-12 schools, to colleges, from studying abroad, to career information.

Planet Ag - Agricultural science may be the path for you if you're into plants, animals, biochemistry, engineering, or health. This site explains 40 such careers and offers many links to other agricultural information as well as science fair ideas.

Yahoo! Get Local - All this national and international news is sometimes overwhelming! If you just want to focus on your local community news, this is the place. You need to set up a profile the first time you use it. You have to type in the name of your city, and sometimes your ZIP code, but that's about it. Then, every time you go to this page, it will bring up your local news. This may include links to your local TV station's and newspaper's Web sites, local team scores, movie listings, special event calendars, weather, and lots more. If you ever want to change to another city, a button at the top of the page will let you do that.
