Armed with a Roloflex camera, he began taking photographs of the art and culture that he had come to profoundly respect. Now you can see 1930s southeastern Nigeria through the lens of a master. This site showcases the art and people of that time and place with simple brilliance. And after you've browsed a sample of his work, the world of African art is just a mouse click away, with great links to places like the National Museum of African Art at the Smithsonian Institution.
