American Samoa Office of Tourism - Department of Commerce - The official site of the American Samoa Tourism Office offers a history of the islands, information on language and culture, maps, and even a link to today's weather forecast. Should you need to experience sunny, 80-degree beaches, this site offers everything you need to plan your family's vacation, too.

Austrian National Tourist Office - This site is the Austrian National Tourist Board's North American edition. If you want to see another edition, just follow the handy link they have provided. Austria is rich with tradition. It was the home of Mozart, who created his first symphony when he was a boy. Austria is well known as the setting for the movie "The Sound of Music," and the Austrian Alps are a famous place for skiing and outdoor adventure. This site has tourist-type information, as you might imagine.

Barbados Tourism Encyclopedia - The Portuguese and Spanish traveled to this island as early as the 1500s in search of gold. However, no permanent settlements were there until the English arrived in 1625. Sugar production became the island's main industry. The work was done by slaves, starting in the 1630s, and the first slaves were white indentured servants who had somehow displeased the Crown and were "Barbadoed" from Britain. Barbados gained its independence from England in 1966.

Escape - To Saskatchewan! - Sure, you'll find lots of information about tourism in this province. The sharp-tailed grouse is the official bird, and the western red lily is the flower. How did this province get its name? According to this site: "Plains Indians are credited with originating the name Saskatchewan. Their word was `kisiskatchewan'--meaning the river that flows swiftly--in reference to the most important waterway running through their territory."

Ever Radiant Welcome of Martinique - Martinique is a popular vacation destination in the Caribbean Sea. In fact, many Web sites about Martinique are produced by commercial travel agencies. This colorful site includes a picture- and music-filled guided tour in which flowers, rain forests, and sandy white beaches are featured. You can sit back and tour while listening to Caribbean music! There are also brief overviews of history, geography, climate, and population. Travelers may be interested to learn about shopping and food on the island. Some commercial promotions are found at this site, but they are nicely mixed with some Web-based Caribbean fun. This site is available in English and French, since the island is an overseas department of France.

Korea National Tourism Organization - This official site, from the Korea National Tourism Organization, is beautifully crafted. Sure, it has all the tourist information you'd want. But there is also some very unusual stuff. For example, in About Korea under Culture, you'll find sound files from several unique instruments. Listen to the Kayagum , a 12-stringed zither which dates back to the sixth century.

Liechtenstein National Tourist Office - Tiny Liechtenstein has an area of only 61 square miles, and it has a population of 300,000 people. This guide, from the Liechtenstein National Tourist Office, takes you on a virtual vacation to this beautiful country. Admire the pictures and learn the history of Liechtenstein. The actual date on which the Principality of Liechtenstein was founded was January 23, 1719, although settlements had been there since 800 B.C.

National Tourism Office of Vanuatu - The Kids/Educational section here has some wonderful pages on Vanuatu's history, culture, and geography. There's also a section on Vanuatu's volcanoes. This primitive land with its isolated, rainforested mountains still holds many secrets even today due to its remote, rugged terrain.

Tourism in Mongolia - This site is maintained by Mongolia's Department of Tourism. This was a mysterious and relatively unknown country until recently. This official site shows Mongolia's commitment tong up to the world. Find country facts, and tourist facts here including travel information, hotels, and a tourist map with places of interest.
