Son of Net-Mom's Top 10 Sites
Codebook - CAUTION? SPOILER ALERT! This site has more cheats than you can shake a computer game at! Extra lives, unlimited funds, hints, walk-throughs, Easter eggs, it's all there! Codebook is constantly updated, so if you just got a new game and Codebook doesn't have the cheats for it yet, don't worry, it will! A word from Son Of- Net-mom: This is the only program I use to get cheats!
Duelist - The Duelist magazine is no more, but it lives on in the Duelist online! In case you didn't know, The Duelist is a magazine devoted to the best customizable card games ever made, games like Pokemon and my personal favorite, Magic: The Gathering. It includes card values and notes about game play, and best of all, it's free. So head on over to Wizards of the Coast: Duelist Magazine...right now!
Electric Games - If you liked Ambrosia, you will love Electric Games. This site has practically every shareware game ever made. But here's the best part: it has both Mac and PC games. It takes a minute to load, but it's worth it. I mean it has everything---from games you never knew existed to games you've been seeking for years, they're all here. and since they're shareware, you don't have to pay big bucks for high-quality games. But it is a good idea to pay the authors what they ask for the game after you've played it for a while; it helps them make upgrades and new games for your enjoyment.
Grossology, the Science of Really Gross Things - Welcome to Grossology, where all of your gross questions can be answered. You can look at the gross fact of the moment or research grossness. You can even get your virtual deploma by taking Gross 101& 201. Search for a gross fact and find out about tons of gross things. Oh, and did I mention that there are recipes for "Fake Snot," and "Fake Blood"? Grossology has all this and more, but you may not want to go there if you want to continue to believe that you are the only living thing in your bed ;-)
Internet Pizza Server - It's a little hard to explain this site. You can order a pizza with tons of weird toppings and have it delivered to your screen. You buy the pizzas with "Beej-Bux", a type of currency of which you have an unlimited supply. This is not just any kind of pizza, mind you. You can get a pizza with EYEBALLS on it. Or GOBLINS. Heck, you can even order kitchen sinks on your pizza! When making your selections, don't put too many toppings on at a time (some kinds of toppings have a tendency to get buried). Is it silly? Yes, but remember, you get what you pay for.
Name That Candybar - Do you like candy bars? Do you like them so much that you could recognize them anywhere? At this site you can test your skills! There are 24 pictures of candy bars that have been cut in cross-section so you can see what is inside them. Twelve of these are harder and in a different section of the site. See if you can beat Son of Net mom! I was able to get 18 of them right. Most of the ones I got wrong were some sort of local generic brand candy. If you beat me, well, give yourself a pat on the back!
Space Camp - Ah, Space Camp, the ultimate place for all kids to go to be trained for their future lives above (the aliens are coming, you know). Well, even if that last part isn't true---at least, not yet---Space Camp is an awsome place. I actually took the Space Academy course for five days with some of my classmates and my math teacher Mr. Herbert. The guides are very cool, and you learn (a little bit) about how astronauts live in space and a lot about how they are trained. However, I offer you a word of caution: before going in the Multi-Axis-Trainer, make sure you have nothing in your pockets ;-)
SuperSoaker - Net-mom has run away from more Super Soaker water play than she cares to remember. Seems like every year Son of Net-mom just HAS to have the latest, greatest, and newest model. Luckily, he hasn't discovered this Web site yet. And don't YOU tell him! He'd be entering the contest to win free water guns and drooling over the CPS 3000. No, Net-mom's going to keep this site a secret.
The Exploratorium - This is the offical page for one of my favorite museums, the Exploritorium in San Francisco. Here you can find out what an aurora is or play memory games (Java required). If I had to choose one favorite, I would choose the Observatory section. The cool part is that you can see a movie of an eclipse from space. Or if you like, you can look at past ehibits, for example, the dissection of a cow's eye (something I saw live when I visited the "mooseum" I mean museum!). From auroras to sheep brain dissections, this page has everything.
