102 Dalmatians - Cruella De Vil is released from prison for good behavior, vowing that she will have nothing to do with fur ever again. She, however, cannot keep this promise and is soon plotting another "FUR-OCIOUS" scheme to get her ultimate dalmatian coat. The fun and adventure shift into high gear as Cruella and the dogs romp through Paris in Walt Disney Pictures' live-action comedy "102 Dalmatians."
2001: A Space Odyssey-Internet Resource Archive - "Good afternoon, gentlemen. I am a HAL 9000 computer. I became operational at the H.A.L. lab in Urbana, Illinois, on the 12th of January, 1992." Long before we had Picard and Kirk and before we had Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, we had HAL, the killer computer on the spaceship in 2001: A Space Odyssey . This movie was released in 1968, and it explored the differences between humanity and technology. Now it will be re-released on New Year's Eve, 2000! The story is told in a free-form kaleidoscope of images and sounds, and years later, people are still arguing about what it all means. This site gives you a lot of famous audio clips from the movie, as well as pictures and links to other resources about the film, including a HAL birthday Web site featuring the book's author, Arthur C. They're named after Jack Foley, a film sound pioneer from the days when talking pictures were first invented.

Parents Television Council - Last week a grandparent wrote to me and asked for help. "I don't have kids in my house all the time," she said, "What's suitable for family viewing?" She was looking for programs without bad language, violence, or subjects that make kids (and adults!) squirm. I suggested this site to her. Roots - During the winter of 1977, a powerful miniseries appeared on television. It was a dramatization of Alex Haley's Pulitzer Prize-winning book, Roots. The series of programs traced Haley's ancestors back to the days of slavery. The compelling story made it the most-watched miniseries of all time, with 130 million viewers during its initial telecast. Although Americans had learned about slavery in school, this was the first time it was portrayed in such close and personal detail, and adults and kids all over the country couldn't wait until the next show to see what happened to Kunta Kinte and the other characters. This online exhibit gives a chronological background and introduction to slavery in America as well as a listing of inventions by African Americans.
Rosie O'Donnell Show - Net-mom has visited the Rosie O'Donnell Show . Unfortunately, Rosie wasn't there. In fact, nobody was there except the guide and 20 other people on the NBC tour in New York City. Still, Net-mom was able to gawk at the set, including the desk, the chairs, and the Coney Island roller coaster replica. If Rosie's your favorite talk show host, you should definitely see her Web page.
