Host Bill Press: Donna Rice Hughes from in Washington-what
should parents be doing, Donna?
Hughes: Well, I think first of all, parents need to be aware that there are
some dangers on the Internet, but the Internet is a tremendous tool, so I would
encourage parents not to pull the plug, but to be aware of what their children
are doing, to spend time online with them, and it's very important to teach
your children safety rules, but also to utilize software tools, because a lot
of what's coming into the home is very difficult to monitor, like your guest
just said, because parents are busy. And, in fact, is a family-friendly
service that offers not only wonderful family content, but does alot of the
filtering and the screening at their servers. So it's more of a plug-n-play
solution, if you will, that really helps partner with parents so that parents
can make sure that their kids are safe online, especially when they're not there.
