Comoros - Overview of this independent group of islands in the Indian Ocean. Provides a map, a fact sheet, and notes on history, society, economy, energy, agriculture, and environment.

Comoros - Located in a strategic position at the northern end of the Mozambique Channel, the Comoro Islands once played a major role in a thriving world economy of the western Indian Ocean. The archipelago arose from the seabed of the western Indian Ocean as the result of volcanic activity. The four major islands: Ngazidja, Mwali, Nzwani, and Mayotte (Maore), are of varying age with distinct topograhical characteristics. Mayotte, the oldest of the islands, is closest to Madagascar and is highly eroded with slow, meandering streams. Ngazidja, the youngest of the islands is closest to Africa and has a massive, active volcano.

Comoros Islands - You'll find a brief country overview, a history of the Comoros Islands, geography, info about the culture, a tour guide and more!

Comoros-The World Factbook 2000 - Brief overview of the geography, government structure, economy, population, defense system, and infrastructure, prepared annually by the Central Intelligence Agency. Includes a map and a reproduction of the flag.
