American Youth Soccer - Still wondering why the sport is called "soccer" in some countries and "football" in others? OK, we'll tell you. The sport started as football in England. By the time it became popular in other parts of the world, some countries already had sports known as football: the U.S. had American football, and Australia had Australian rules football. In countries where football was already played, the sport became known as soccer, short for "association football," the original name for the sport in England. You can also visit the American Youth Soccer Organization from this site.

Federation Internationale de Football Association - Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) is the organization behind all the World Cup and other official international soccer competitions. You'll find authoritative team standings, a history of FIFA, and lots of soccer news at this site. You'll also be able to read the official rule book, called the Laws of the Game (there are only 17 rules). Soccer, football, whatever you call it--what a kick!

MLSNET: The Official Site of Major League Soccer - In North America, it's called soccer, but elsewhere in the world it's called football. Confused? Don't be--it will all become clear to you if you visit the Major League Soccer Web page. From there you can link to team pages, check standings, news, and more. You'll be able to see video highlights of great plays, hear interviews, and enjoy other multimedia treats if you have the right browser plug-ins.

The Soccer Patch - Does your soccer team have a patch? Or maybe you've gotten a different patch for each tournament in which you've participated. Is your team patch displayed on this page? If not, send it in. They have over 1,042 patches now, from all over the world! There are also lots of links to kids' soccer pages, team pages, and news and information about the sport.

United States Soccer Federation - U.S. Soccer net is the official web site of the United States Soccer Federation. Detailed bios, statistics and records from the Men's National Team and Women's National Team, as well as each team's complete history.

Youth National Teams - Find out what's happening with the youth national teams from Soccer America.com, with the latest top stories and news.
